Welcome to this little corner of the universe that I have dedicated to all the art, drawn or otherwise, inspired by my story "The King's Mistress".

The purpose of this club is to create a gathering place for all those who have done artwork for my story, so that we can all comment/critique/praise and better ourselves as artists. So feel free to look around, and, if you're so inclined, be sure to read the story if you're looking for something to keep you occupied for a few hours! But more than anything, if you see something you like in this club, then by all means make sure you leave the artists your comments. And be honest. Remember, honesty is the only way we can all grow and improve!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYONE! I hope you all have a wonderful time with friends, family, boyfriends, girlfriends, or whatever the case may be. Just remember that it's a time to celebrate friendship and joy as much as it is to celebrate love, so for those of us who aren't in a relationship, don't get depressed. Celebrate your friends instead, like I do!

Hey all, this is here with an update. Happy Chinese New Year! The contest is underway, so hurry up and check it out! XD You guys still have a long time before the dateline, so enter and you might win! ^^ One more chapter in TKM to go! ;-; Very sad, but maybe now we'll finally get some fluff XXD (just kidding dolphingirl! )

Recently, I 'discovered' Naruto, and I'm hooked! Currently reading the manga online and I'm caught up to the anime up to episode 169. Can't wait for the fillers to end!

:THE STORY:

Kagome and Kikyou Higurashi, rivals in every way, both find themselves in love with their King. But when a man at court brings Kikyou's scandalous past with him and threatens her life, Kagome must choose between old loyalty and a passionate new love.

Just send the club a note! We accept anyone who wants to be a member, and the only thing we ask in return is that members put a link to the website on their profile pages (and it would also probably be to the benefit of every member to add the club to his/her watch list to stay informed of news/contests/etc, but that is certainly not a requirement). Members don't have to contribute art of any kind. But comments on the works of others is very much appreciated.


:SUBMITTING ART:

Send a note to the club with the title of "Submission", including a link to the piece itself, and it will be added to the gallery as soon as possible.

It is important to note, however, that submitting the works of others under a false name will not be tolerated, and also, out of respect for other artists, it is a rule that you cannot submit the work of friends to this club. Only the artists themselves can make submissions. However, you can send the club a note with the title of "Suggested Art" along with the appropriate link, and from there one of the staff can contact the artist.

:AFFILIATING WITH US:

If you would like to become an affiliate of this club, just follow a similar process as stated above for prospective members: send a note to the club with the subject of "Affiliate", and the club will be happy to affiliate with you. Just remember that an affiliation goes both ways, so all that is asked in return is that while we post your link on our page, you do the same.

Anyone can become an affiliate at this point, whether the club is related to Inuyasha or not. The only thing we ask is that the club be well managed, and active within the last six months.





:CURRENT CONTEST:

"Love is in the Air"

Description:

There are many different romances within the pages of "The King's Mistress". There are many official romances, and many more that are implied. WIth that in mind, create a work of art that depicts something romantic from TKM. You can draw something as simple as an actual scene from the story, or you can allow your imagination to take flight and create a scene you WISHED had occurred in the story. Your art can depict any couple you wish, and it can include couples you wish had been explored a little more in the story (such as Kagome/Kouga, Kagome/Bankotsu, etc.). But remember to keep the feeling beautiful and romantic, since "The King's Mistress" is, above all else, a dramatic romance. Good luck!

Rules:

- You MAY illustrate a scene pulled directly from the story

- You MAY illustrate a scene you wish had been included in the story, but is actually pulled 100% from your imagination, so long as the characters remain true to themselves

- You MAY illustrate any couple you want, including couples that could have been explored had the story been a little different (such as Kagome/Kouga, Kagome/Bankotsu, Inuyasha/Kikyou, etc.)

- You MAY NOT use dialogue 'bubbles' this time...just let your piece speak for itself, and if there is anything in your piece you want paid a particular amount of attention, then be sure to mention it in your description/summary

- You MAY have more than one entry

- Both members and non-members MAY enter the contest

- All mediums ARE allowed; in other words, draw/create with whatever tools you feel show off your skills the best

- The title of the contest DOES NOT need to be included in the art itself. That is merely for the purpose of creating the various banners of the contest. You MAY include it, however, if you so choose.

Submitting:

Just send a note to the club titled "Contest Entry" and we will add your entry as soon as we can.

Prizes:

1st Place:
- Piece will be featured art until next contest
- Will receive a "First Place" banner for his/her gallery
- Will be allowed to judge with the staff on the next contest
- Will outline the theme for the next contest

2nd Place (3 or more entries):
- Will receive a "Second Place" banner for his/her gallery
- Will rotate as featured art with the first place winner

3rd Place (5 or more entires):
- Will receive a "Third Place" banner for his/her gallery
- Will rotate as featured art with the first and second place winners

Deadlines:

Submission Period: January 18 - February 19

Voting Period: February 20 - February 25
